This internship program is designed to help participants build relevant skills, work on meaningful projects, and participate in a collaborative program for early career development. Interns will work directly with their team on day-to-day tasks and engage in program events to develop new skills, network with senior leaders, and connect with fellow interns. The program offers hands-on experience, meaningful project work, and exposure to a dynamic global business, allowing interns to explore potential long-term careers at Northern Trust. A recruiter will assist with team placement based on interests, skill set, and experience.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college/university with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Curiosity about financial markets and interest in learning more about the financial services industry
  • Proven analytical, data interpretation, problem-solving, critical and strategic thinking skills through course work and/or previous internship experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork through projects and extracurricular involvement
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with your team on day-to-day tasks
  • Participate in internship program events to develop new skills, network with senior leaders, and connect with fellow interns
  • Develop an understanding of credit products and lending practices
  • Participate in credit analysis and underwriting
  • Provide banking services to Wealth Management and Corporate and Institutional clients
