We seek to fill a Family Time Coordinator (Social Service Assistant) position in our Portland office, located on N Webster Street. The work schedule for this position will be Tuesday – Saturday from 10AM – 7PM. As an employee working within the Child Welfare Program, you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon’s most vulnerable children and families. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
  • One year of experience working in a human services or behavioral health setting OR An associate degree in any field OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience providing administrative support by coordinating schedules, managing correspondence, and maintaining organized records.
  • Experience narrating or documenting observations and information related to client cases, ensuring accurate and detailed record of activities and progress.
  • Knowledge and experience using trauma-informed practices, integrating these values into client interactions and support services to promote healing and empowerment.
  • Experience using clear communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse populations, ensuring culturally sensitive and inclusive approaches in all interactions and service delivery.
  • Experience working with children and families from a wide variety of backgrounds and able to demonstrate intercultural competency.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage individual visitation agreements by coordinating with case workers, clients, and caregivers.
  • Plan visit schedules, locations, supervision levels, and safety measures using information from various sources.
  • Review and explain visitation agreements and guidelines to clients, family members, and caregivers.
  • Ensure children's safety and well-being during visits and transport, addressing any issues and documenting outcomes.
  • Communicate visitation expectations and respond to post-visit inquiries from caregivers and family members.
  • Provide transportation support for children and others associated with the case, supporting their emotional needs.
  • Keep accurate records, prepare court notes, provide feedback to service workers, and participate in meetings and conferences.
