Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required AND Three (3) years’ experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and families.
  • Associates degree in a Mental Health, Human Services or closely related field AND Two (2) years’ experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and families.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Mental Health, Human Services or closely related field AND One (1) years’ experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and/or families.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and maintenance of a driving record that meets the company driver eligibility policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervision for BBS hours for AMFT, ACSW, and APCC professionals (where applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Builds trusting relationships with both the child/youth (Youth) and their parent/ caregiver(s) (Caregivers), while providing practical guidance and strategies that address behavioral challenges and support emotional growth.
  • Helps uncover unmet needs, teaches coping skills, and bridges gaps to repair relationships and build understanding amongst family members.
  • Engages both the youth and the caregiver(s) to explore behaviors, practice new skills, and create lasting connections.
  • Offers direct behavioral interventions and skill-building for the youth and caregivers.
  • Acts as the family’s primary behavioral support partner, working in coordination with the youth therapist and the Child and Family Team to support the youth and caregiver(s) in achieving their goals.
  • Participates in 24/7 on-call system; pay differential.
