About The Position

The Family Services Worker role is a full-time, 12-month position focused on helping families grow, thrive, and succeed. The role involves partnering with families to build on their strengths, set goals, and connect them with resources that support stability and growth, making each day rewarding and impactful. This is a union position.

Requirements

• Credential or certification in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or a related field (or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire).
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
• Ability to pass background study and required health screenings

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Somali) a plus, depending on service area.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Start families in identifying strengths, setting goals, and working toward positive child and family outcomes.
• Deliver engaging parenting trainings with practical skills families can use right away.
• Encourage family participation in classrooms, Parent Committees, and Policy Council as active partners in the program.
• Link families to community resources and integrated services that support education, health, and family development.
• Complete required case notes, data collection, and records in compliance with Head Start and UCAP standards.
