About The Position

This position will provide general support to various services in the Community and Family Services setting of a Ministry Unit. The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties. As directed, support pre-planned program activities for the community (food bank, crafts, sports, games, music, homework stations, Bible-based devotions, community church, meetings etc.). Work in a team setting supporting various tasks and activities. Maintain strict confidentiality of all matters pertaining to the program participants. Adhere to policies and procedures relating to the programs. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities
  • Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures
  • Completion of some high school coursework is required
  • CPR, First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Training or willingness to complete once hired
  • Driver's License is required
  • A year of related experience or other related experiences
  • Maintain and promote a positive image of The Salvation Army by providing a high caliber of services and dealing with others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility
  • Good team player
  • Organized and attentive to details
