Youth Villages’ Family Service Worker (FSW) program provides family-centered, strength-based services to youth from birth to age 18 in partnership with Tennessee’s Department of Children’s Services. The program delivers case management to custodial families referred by other DCS program areas, juvenile courts, or through self-referral. Staff provide crisis support, identify services and resources suited to each family, and use formal and informal assessments to guide case planning. The program aims to increase stability, strengthen relationships, build self-sufficiency, and enhance well-being and permanency. The Family Service Worker serves as a youth’s guardian and manages a caseload of 15 to 20 cases. Work is conducted in the family’s home or wherever services are needed, including schools and courts. The role includes on-call crisis support, with schedules varying by location, and requires accurate, timely documentation in an electronic medical record system. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional, based on the availability of youth and families. The salary range is $52,000–$60,000 per year, based on education and clinical license. Applicants must have a current, valid driver’s license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance. Community-based staff are reimbursed for applicable mileage.
