About The Position
Marathon Health is hiring a Family Nurse Practitioner to provide relationship-based, whole-person primary care in Austin, Minnesota. The provider offers preventive care, chronic disease management, urgent visits, and health education, working autonomously and practicing at the top of their license. The care model emphasizes smaller patient panels, appointments of 20 to 60 minutes, prevention and wellness, and health outcomes rather than patient volume or fee-for-service billing, with fewer administrative and insurance-related tasks. Providers have access to resources including UpToDate and RubiconMD. Marathon Health supports ongoing learning and collaboration through regular provider meetings, journal clubs, and grand rounds. The role offers non-production-based compensation and comprehensive benefits, including CME, medical license, DEA, and malpractice coverage. Competitive health benefits begin on the first day of the month after the start date.
Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current ANCC or AANP board certification.
- CPR/BLS certification by the start date.
Nice To Haves
- Independent practice provider status, where applicable under state regulations.
- Federal DEA number; it may be required for full prescribing ability.
- Independent family practice experience, including routine wellness care, chronic care management, and urgent visits.
Responsibilities
