About The Position
Skilled Wound Care is hiring Family Medicine Physicians in Birmingham, Alabama, to provide wound care and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities. The role offers clinical autonomy, hands-on procedures, continuity of care, and a no-call schedule without nights or weekends. Physicians receive comprehensive wound care training; prior wound care or procedural experience is not required. Work is available part-time or full-time, with consistent weekday schedules. The position involves pre-employment confidential DiSC testing and relevant skills testing.
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited institution.
- Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
- DEA license, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Complete pre-employment confidential DiSC testing and appropriate relevant skills testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
- Evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds.
- Use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
- Collaborate in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, following patients through healing.
- Lead wound care initiatives across the area.
