About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) at FHW. The role involves performing the normal and customary functions of a physician practicing Family Medicine, collaborating with staff to determine the most appropriate site of care and cost-effective use of resources, and providing prompt and clear communication regarding patient status. The physician will complete all patient charts and documentation within specified time frames, provide services regardless of a patient's ability to pay, and prescribe all appropriate medications, including narcotics. The role also includes providing physician input into quality improvement, patient safety, and patient and family satisfaction, actively participating in quality programs and mandatory meetings. Additional duties may include marketing, training, and consulting. The physician is expected to act with a high degree of corporate responsibility regarding resource utilization, promote cooperation and teamwork, direct other employees, and maintain patient/resident/employee privacy and confidentiality. The physician will also support Service Excellence and represent Physician Services through positive, professional communication, demonstrating leadership aligned with FHW's mission, vision, and values. Compliance with the Employment Agreement and any amendments is required, along with other assigned job-related duties.

Requirements

  • Board Certification in Family Medicine
  • Colorado Medical Board License
  • Drug Enforcement Administration License
  • BLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification
  • PALS Certification
  • ATLS Certification
  • Credentialed by FHW Medical Staff
  • Reliable and punctual attendance
  • Complete all required hospital and insurance credentialing promptly upon request.
  • Comply with applicable legal requirements for a Physician to obtain and/or maintain prescriptive authority in Colorado.
  • Comply with policies, laws, and accreditation standards.
  • Complete all required FHW training within 90 days of employment and annually thereafter.
  • Immunizations required for employment; including flu vaccine

Responsibilities

  • Perform the normal and customary functions of a physician practicing Family Medicine.
  • Collaborate with staff, physicians, and administrative staff to determine the most appropriate site of care for patients and most cost-effective use of resources.
  • Provide prompt and clear communication about patient admission, condition changes, and discharge to clinicians responsible for outpatient care.
  • Complete all patient charts and documentation, written and phone orders, and other information necessary for billing laboratory, imaging, and other ancillary services within reasonable specified time frames.
  • Provide the full-range of services regardless of patient’s ability to pay.
  • Prescribe all appropriate medications needed by patients including narcotics.
  • Provide physician input into improvement of quality, patient safety, and patient and family satisfaction.
  • Actively participate in practice and organizational level quality programs as appropriate, and participate in all meetings and conferences designated by Employer as “mandatory,” unless excused by Employer.
  • Provide additional duties to include but not limited to marketing, training, and consulting for Employer.
  • Act with a high degree of corporate responsibility relating to the use of resources, equipment and supplies to insure high quality patient care and fiscal responsibility.
  • Promote cooperation and teamwork among other physicians, support staff, and FHW personnel.
  • Direct other employees of the Employer in the provision of services, and adhere to all reasonable job descriptions, policies, procedures, and performance standards adopted by the Employer.
  • Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
  • Maintain patient/resident/employee privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Actively support Service Excellence in all interactions with patients, staff, and administration.
  • Represent Physician Services through positive, professional communication and interactions with staff, patients, family members, the community, and other FHW departments.
  • Demonstrate leadership to align with FHW mission, vision, and values in all daily roles and responsibilities.
  • Comply with Employment Agreement and subsequent Amendments in their entirety.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
