About The Position

The Department of Family & Community Medicine at Albany Medical College is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Family Medicine Physician with a strong interest and training in Obstetrics to join their full-time faculty. The role involves providing comprehensive maternity care, teaching residents and medical students, and expanding Family Medicine Obstetrics within the residency program. The successful candidate will practice full-spectrum family medicine with a focus on obstetric and women's health care within the Albany Family Medicine practice (Community Care Physicians), holding privileges at academic and community teaching hospitals. The position emphasizes a collaborative environment with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to high-quality, evidence-based maternity care for diverse patient populations.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (ABFM or ACOFP)
  • Training and demonstrated interest in Family Medicine Obstetrics
  • Eligible for New York State medical licensure
  • Eligible for Federal DEA registration
  • Completion of Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Medicine (MD)
  • Completion of an accredited internship and residency
  • Active license to practice medicine in NYS
  • Currently board certified by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Member Board or an approved American Osteopathic Association (AOA) specialty board
  • Upcoming new graduates will still be considered in a board eligible status

  • Practice full-spectrum Family Medicine with a focus on obstetrics and women's health
  • Teach across the continuum of learners—from medical students to residents
  • Help shape and expand Family Medicine Obstetrics within a growing residency program
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to excellence in maternity care and medical education
  • Engage in scholarship, quality improvement, and educational leadership opportunities

  • $20,000 signing bonus
