About The Position

Cordell & Cordell is hiring a Family Law Paralegal to support its family law practice in Peoria, Arizona. The role provides case management, legal document preparation, and client communication for matters such as divorce, custody disputes, and child support. The paralegal helps clients navigate sensitive events by keeping cases organized, preparing accurate filings, and communicating with care and professionalism. The position is onsite Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

At least 3 years of family law paralegal or legal assistant experience.
Associate degree in paralegal studies or equivalent.
Excellent typing skills and computer literacy, including a solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Proficiency with legal software and case management systems such as Smart Advocate, Clio, MyCase, or similar.
Ability to focus on details, handle multiple tasks, and remain highly organized.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative and approachable demeanor.
Professional presence and ability to interact confidently with clients and colleagues.
Reliable transportation and ability to work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Proactive mindset and willingness to go above and beyond on simple requests to make things easier for others.

Responsibilities

Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.
Prepare financial disclosures, child support worksheets, and parenting plans.
Manage case calendars, track deadlines, and ensure timely filings.
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
Edit draft documents to incorporate client changes and prepare documents for signing.
Handle sensitive client data with discretion, care, and accuracy.
Complete assigned tasks accurately and promptly, meeting agreed-upon deadlines.
