Family Intervention Specialist - Asheville, NC

YOUTH VILLAGES, INC.•Asheville, NC
•$62,000 - $70,000•Onsite

About The Position

Youth Villages is seeking a Family Intervention Specialist for its Intercept® program, an evidence-based, intensive in-home service that works to prevent out-of-home placements or support reunification after placement. The program serves youth from birth through age 18 who face serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma, including abuse or neglect. Specialists provide services in families’ homes and communities rather than in an office, using strength-based support and evidence-based mental health interventions to help families develop parenting and communication skills and achieve lasting change. The role carries a caseload of four to six families and involves frequent, flexible sessions scheduled around family availability. The specialist participates in individual, team, and clinical consultation meetings, as well as quarterly booster trainings. The position requires substantial community travel, on-call crisis support, collaboration with providers and systems involved in a family’s care, and timely documentation in an electronic medical record. Applicants need a valid driver’s license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance. Applicable mileage is reimbursed. The listed salary range is $62,000–$70,000, based on education and clinical license. Candidates must meet one of the specified education and experience pathways: a clinical bachelor’s degree plus two years of full-time clinical experience with the designated population; a clinical master’s degree plus one year of such experience; or one of the listed North Carolina associate-level clinical licenses. All applicants must also have experience with at-risk youth and clinical case management or therapeutic interventions, along with the specified organizational, communication, computer, prioritization, and scheduling capabilities.

Requirements

  • Licensed-applicant pathway: hold a North Carolina LCMHC-A, LMFT-A, LCSW-A, or LCAS-A license.
  • Experience with at-risk youth, which may include truancy, alcohol or substance abuse, homicidal or suicidal ideation, problem sexual behavior, verbal or physical aggression, running away, or antisocial behaviors.
  • Experience with clinical case management or the practice of therapeutic interventions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
