About The Position

Youth Villages is hiring a Family Intervention Specialist for its Intercept® program in Durham, North Carolina. Intercept is an evidence-based, intensive in-home program designed to keep families together by preventing out-of-home placements or facilitating reunification. It serves youth from birth through age 18 who face serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma. Specialists provide tailored support in families’ homes and communities—not in an office—using evidence-based mental health interventions and helping families develop parenting and communication skills. The specialist carries a caseload of 4 to 6 families and holds individual and family sessions with each family three times per week, scheduled around family availability. The work involves travel to homes and community locations, with mileage reimbursement for applicable travel. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional. The specialist also provides on-call crisis support; schedules vary by location. Candidates must meet one of the specified education and experience pathways: a bachelor’s degree in a clinical field plus two years of full-time clinical experience with the designated population; a master’s degree in a clinical field plus one year of such experience; or an eligible North Carolina clinical associate license. The salary range is $58,000–$66,000, based on education and clinical license. Youth Villages describes opportunities for professional growth, personal development, ongoing training, and clinical and administrative advancement.
