About The Position

Youth Villages is hiring a Family Intervention Specialist for its Intercept® program in Greenville, North Carolina. Intercept is an evidence-based, intensive in-home program designed to help keep families together by preventing out-of-home placements or supporting reunification following placements such as foster care, residential treatment, hospitalization, or juvenile detention. It serves youth from birth through age 18 who face serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma. Services take place in families’ homes and communities, not in an office, and use strength-based support and evidence-based mental health interventions to help families develop parenting and communication skills and achieve lasting change. The specialist carries a caseload of four to six families, conducts individual and family sessions three times weekly at times convenient for families, and assesses youth needs from a strength-focused, solution-based perspective. The role includes regular professional development meetings, collaboration with other providers and systems, crisis support, and timely electronic medical record documentation. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional to accommodate the availability of the youth and families served. The specialist may drive 60 to 80 miles to meet families, with additional travel possible; applicable mileage is reimbursed. The salary is $58,000–$63,000, based on education and clinical licensure. Applicants must meet one of the specified education-and-experience pathways or hold a qualifying North Carolina associate clinical license.
