JEVS Care at Home hires eligible parents, guardians, family members, or family friends to provide non-medical in-home support to an elderly or disabled person. The client and caregiver must both be at least 18 years old. JEVS can help clients apply for a state waiver if they are not already enrolled in an accepted waiver, and may help find a caregiver if the client does not know someone. The agency covers required clearances and tuberculosis testing. Services are available in Allegheny, Butler, Washington, Beaver, and Westmoreland counties, as well as counties within two to three hours of Allegheny. Accepted waivers are Community Health Choices, ACT 150, and VA Aid & Attendance. Caregivers receive weekly pay, flexible hours, paid time off, 11 paid holidays at time and a half, paid training when needed for specific client care, support from a Client Care Manager, and 24/7 on-call support. Health, dental, and life insurance are available after 60 days if the weekly-hours requirement is met. EVV performance incentives may also be available.
