About The Position

The Family Assistant supports a family of four in San Antonio’s Stone Oak area, with household support as the central focus and occasional child transportation and backup childcare. The family has two young children in the toddler and preschool stages, and both parents work from home. The role involves maintaining an orderly home, managing laundry and household supplies, completing errands, and helping with school and family pickups. Food-related support is limited to simple preparations using family recipes. The family values a calm, self-sufficient, observant, and dependable person who can work independently, communicate directly, respect the parents’ work time and household privacy, and follow tasks through to completion. Previous household experience is welcome but is not required; good judgment, initiative, willingness to learn, and interest in a lasting working relationship are emphasized. This is a part-time role for 20–25 hours per week, scheduled across five days at 4–5 hours per day. Friday through Tuesday is preferred, and at least one weekend day is required. The schedule has some flexibility, but the weekend day is non-negotiable. The assistant must be available for either weekday morning drop-offs around 8:30 AM or evening pickups around 5:00 PM. Date-night coverage is ideally needed every other weekend. Compensation is $20–$24 per hour, based on experience, with an ASAP start date. A family car is available for errands and child transportation. The assistant must have a clean driving record, be comfortable securing children in their car seats, and have reliable transportation to and from the family’s home. The role includes active household tasks such as navigating stairs repeatedly, carrying groceries and laundry between floors, and helping children into car seats. Applicants must be comfortable working around children, maintain a smoke-free environment, pass a background check, and be authorized to work in the United States.
