About The Position

Everett Public Schools is seeking after-school coaches to facilitate Girls on the Run, an evidence-based physical activity and social-emotional learning program for students in Grades 3–5, including girls and students of other marginalized gender identities. The program combines movement, relationship-building, and interactive lessons that help students develop confidence, healthy habits, and important life skills. Girls on the Run will provide the core curriculum, program materials, and required coach training. Coaches will also facilitate literacy activities that connect students’ reading, reflection, and communication skills to the program’s social-emotional learning themes.

Requirements

  • Current Everett Public Schools teacher or paraprofessional in good standing.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students.
  • Ability to facilitate physical activity and social-emotional learning lessons.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and positive behavior-management skills.
  • Availability for the complete eight-week season, required training, and the end-of-season 5K.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of experience working with students in elementary or middle grades.
  • Previous experience supporting before-school, afterschool, athletic, wellness, or other out-of-school-time programming.
  • Experience facilitating literacy or social-emotional learning activities.
  • Multilingual capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Girls on the Run sessions using the curriculum and materials provided.
  • Lead safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate movement and running activities.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes student confidence, belonging, teamwork, and healthy habits.
  • Supervise students during program activities, transitions, and dismissal.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and participation records.
  • Implement positive behavior supports and age-appropriate behavior-management strategies.
  • Communicate with families as needed regarding student engagement, attendance, program updates, and participation in the end-of-season 5K.
  • Coordinate with school staff regarding program space, materials, technology, and other operational needs.
  • Complete required Girls on the Run coach training and participate in program planning and preparation.
  • Attend the celebratory 5K on Sunday, November 15, 2026, and support student supervision and participation during the event.
