Fair Banking Intern
About The Position
The Fair Banking Summer Intern supports initiatives that help Rockland Trust serve customers and communities fairly, consistently, and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Working alongside compliance and risk professionals, the intern gains hands-on experience with fair banking principles, consumer compliance, regulatory requirements, data analysis, reporting, and community-focused initiatives. The role contributes to projects that promote equitable access to financial services, consumer protection, transparency, and responsible banking practices. Interns also take part in collaborative summer projects with fellow interns and have opportunities to work with Fair Banking, Compliance, Risk Management, and business partners. The internship emphasizes research, analytical and professional skills, stakeholder collaboration, and exposure to careers in compliance, risk management, public policy, and financial services.
Requirements
- Be a rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct research and analyze data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Interest in compliance, consumer protection, fair banking, or financial services.
- Strong ethics, professionalism, and integrity.
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Collect, organize, and analyze data related to fair banking initiatives.
- Support preparation of reports, presentations, and documentation for compliance monitoring and business reviews.
- Research fair banking regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
- Assist with data validation, quality control, and reporting activities.
- Support ongoing monitoring and assessment programs to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain documentation and records supporting compliance and governance activities.
- Participate in meetings and discussions with Fair Banking, Compliance, Risk Management, and business partners.
- Assist with special projects supporting the Bank's fair banking objectives.
- Participate in collaborative summer projects with fellow interns.
