This full-time faculty position is a nine-month position, requiring a presence on campus (courses taught at both Davidson and Davie campuses) with the faculty member’s primary efforts focused on teaching and learning, academic excellence and student success. Primary responsibilities include designing and implementing learning strategies for students in college transfer programs. This position reports directly to the Division Chair, Davie Academic Programs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, or related field with 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics
  • Teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • Promote DDCC mission, vision and values
  • Teach assigned courses at various locations to meet program needs, including, but not limited to day, evening, weekend, and online
  • Ensure that each class session contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency
  • Evaluate student progress and provide appropriate, timely feedback
  • Provide and/or facilitate quality experiences in the learning environment(s) to meet program needs
  • Develop course syllabi and provide appropriate written information to students concerning course evaluation and criteria
  • Incorporate appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning
  • Assist in the evaluation of courses and programs
  • Prepare and submit instructional records, reports and grades established by institutional policy.
  • Participate in professional development to enhance instructional and technical skills
  • Attend appropriate internal and external meetings
  • Assist in student recruitment and retention
  • Maintain accessibility to students, faculty and staff
  • Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College.
