About Onondaga Community College: Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY, is a college of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and one of 30 locally sponsored community colleges throughout New York State. Onondaga County is our sponsor. We offer two-year degree programs that serve as transfer opportunities to baccalaureate degree programs at four-year campuses or for direct entry to the workforce. We also offer certificate programs that can generally be completed in one year. Onondaga is a diverse educational learning community. Requirements
- Master's degree in mathematics or a related field from a regionally accredited college, university or foreign equivalent with at least 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) in graduate-level courses strongly related to mathematics, at least 6 of which are graduate-level mathematics.

- Teaching experience in a community college including instruction at the developmental level.
- A strong record of academic excellence complimented by demonstrated teaching effectiveness with students who have widely varying mathematical backgrounds and learning styles.
- Proven ability with the use of technology to enhance learning is essential.
- Additionally, the preferred candidate must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written English.
- Ability to interact effectively with undergraduate students in a dynamic and diverse college environment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and another language will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- College-level teaching of Mathematics courses ranging from intermediate algebra through differential equations and statistics.
- Prepare and present lectures.
- Meet with students as needed to answer questions.
- Respond to student queries (e.g. email or voice mail) as needed, in a reasonably timely manner.
- Write, administer, and grade all student assignments and exams.
- Compute grades and submit them on time.
