Facility Supervisor
About The Position
Facility Management Corporation, known as FMC Ice Sports, manages public ice-sport facilities and programs. The Facility Supervisor provides on-site supervision of staff and facilities to help ensure clean, safe, and healthy facilities. The role includes routine maintenance and janitorial work while the facility is open to the public, as well as driving and operating an ice resurfacer. The position reports to the General Manager or Arena Manager and may work independently or with other staff depending on the facility activities schedule. It is a full-time seasonal position running from August through April. The schedule includes nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be a self-starter who can analyze situations and develop solutions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with a variety of individuals and groups.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
Nice To Haves
- One year of work experience in an ice arena or similar organization, with some exposure to operations and maintenance functions.
- Knowledge of equipment.
- Experience operating an ice resurfacer; training may be provided.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure the facility.
- Make and maintain the ice surface and maintain arena facilities.
- Complete and maintain required logs.
- Ensure facilities are cleaned regularly.
- Handle scheduling and payroll as determined by the General Manager or Arena Manager.
- Train new hires in coordination with the General Manager or Arena Manager and Operations Personnel.
- Oversee on-site staff, including Facility Operators and Facility Support Staff.
- Demonstrate commitment to outstanding customer service for internal and external customers.
- Drive and operate the ice resurfacer.
