About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Helper assists with facility maintenance at U-Haul Moving Centers, Storage Centers, and other U-Haul facilities within a geographical area. The role performs general maintenance, installation, repair, and service tasks, supports skilled workers when needed, and completes work requests in a timely and professional manner. The position includes ongoing education through U-Haul University. The role is based at 5051 Obama Bl, Los Angeles, California 90016, and pays $20.75 to $22.75 per hour. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. A valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record are required to operate commercial motor vehicles and comply with applicable vehicular regulations. The work involves some physical exertion and moderate workplace risks requiring safety precautions and, when needed, protective gear.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, assisted or unassisted.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Use a variety of hand and power tools effectively.
Perform general maintenance, installation, repair, and service.
Perform work involving nailing, sawing, cutting, painting, and basic facility maintenance.
Complete cleanup duties at renovation sites.
Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
Assist skilled workers in performing duties when necessary.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
Follow applicable local, state, and federal vehicular regulations while driving.
