Facility Maintenance Helper
About The Position
The Facility Maintenance Helper assists with facility maintenance at U-Haul Moving Centers, Storage Centers, and other U-Haul facilities within a geographical area. The role involves general maintenance, installation, repair, service, and cleanup work, as well as assisting skilled workers when needed. The position is based at 5051 Obama Bl, Los Angeles, California 90016, and pays $20.75 to $22.75 per hour. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. The work may involve moderate risks or discomforts, such as working around moving parts or machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. Protective equipment such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields may be required. Physical work includes extended periods of standing and walking, recurring bending and reaching, and lifting at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance. U-Haul describes opportunities for career stability and advancement, paid working interviews, a $100 hiring bonus, and a $300 cash bonus upon completing U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through its 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores. Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal vehicular regulations while driving.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.
- In states specified by U-Haul, applicants who use nicotine products are not eligible for hire or rehire.
Responsibilities
- Effectively work with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Perform general maintenance, installation, repair, and service.
- Perform work requiring nailing, sawing, cutting, painting, and basic facility maintenance.
- Perform cleanup duties at renovation sites.
- Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist skilled workers in performing duties when necessary.
- Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
- Operate commercial motor vehicles while adhering to applicable local, state, and federal vehicular regulations.
