About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Helper assists with facility maintenance at U-Haul Moving Centers, Storage Centers, and other U-Haul facilities within a geographical area. The role supports general maintenance, installation, repair, and service work, and assists skilled workers as needed. The position is based at 3804 Buford Dr, Buford, Georgia 30519. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. A valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record are required to operate commercial motor vehicles and comply with local, state, and federal vehicle regulations. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving machinery, fumes, or irritant chemicals, and may require protective gear. Physical demands include prolonged standing and walking, recurring bending and similar movements, and lifting at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance. U-Haul states that it does not hire or re-hire nicotine users in Georgia and the other listed states. U-Haul advertises paid hands-on working interviews, a $100 hiring bonus, and a $300 cash bonus upon completing Equipment Inspection and Verification through its 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores. Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
Adhere to local, state (provincial), and federal vehicular regulations while driving.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, assisted or unassisted.

Responsibilities

Effectively work with a variety of hand and power tools.
Perform general maintenance, installation, repair, and service.
Perform work involving nailing, sawing, cutting, painting, and basic facility maintenance.
Perform cleanup duties at renovation sites.
Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
Assist skilled workers in performing duties when necessary.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
