About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Helper assists with facility maintenance at U-Haul Moving Centers, Storage Centers, and other U-Haul facilities within a geographical area. The role performs general maintenance, installation, repair, service, and cleanup tasks, and assists skilled workers as needed. The position is based at 5555 S Pine Ave Unit 10-02, Ocala, Florida 34480, United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. The position requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles, as well as a high school diploma or equivalent. Work involves moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving machinery, fumes, or irritant chemicals. Protective clothing or equipment such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields may be required. The role also involves physical activity including extended periods of standing and walking, recurring bending and reaching, and lifting at least 50 pounds, assisted or unassisted. Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Must adhere to applicable local, state, and federal vehicular regulations while driving.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, assisted or unassisted.
In Florida, applicants who use nicotine products are not eligible for hire or re-hire.

Responsibilities

Use a variety of hand and power tools effectively.
Perform general maintenance, installation, repair, and service.
Perform work involving nailing, sawing, cutting, painting, and basic facility maintenance.
Complete cleanup duties at renovation sites.
Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
Assist skilled workers with duties when necessary.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
Follow local, state, and federal vehicular regulations while driving.
