Facility Maintenance Helper
About The Position
The Facility Maintenance Helper assists with facility maintenance at U-Haul Moving Centers, Storage Centers, and other U-Haul facilities within a geographical area. The role includes general maintenance, installation, repair, and service; basic facility work; and cleanup at renovation sites. The position also assists skilled workers as needed and includes ongoing education through U-Haul University. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. The position is located at 5555 S Pine Ave Unit 10-02, Ocala, Florida 34480. U-Haul describes its hiring approach as “Hire Fast, Pay Fast,” and offers paid hands-on working interviews, a $100 hiring bonus, and a $300 cash bonus upon completing the specified equipment inspection and verification certification program at retail stores. These are hiring incentives, not stated as ongoing compensation.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal vehicular regulations while driving.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Legally authorized to work without employer sponsorship.
- In Florida, U-Haul will not hire or re-hire individuals who use nicotine products.
Responsibilities
- Effectively work with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Perform general maintenance, installation, repair, and service.
- Perform work requiring nailing, sawing, cutting, painting, and basic facility maintenance.
- Perform cleanup duties at renovation sites.
- Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist skilled workers in the performance of duties when necessary.
- Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
