About The Position

Northwood Club, established in 1946 and renowned for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open, is seeking a Facility Maintenance Engineer. This premier country club, recognized for its excellence in golf, tennis, and culinary arts, requires a dedicated individual to provide daily repair and maintenance services across all operational areas. The role encompasses offices, public spaces, restrooms, kitchen, pool, grounds, and other areas as needed. The ideal candidate will possess experience in HVAC, electrical systems, commercial appliances, plumbing, and painting.

Requirements

  • High school education; or up to three years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • English required as applicant may be required: to read a limited number or two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers; to print and speak simple sentences.
  • May be required: to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one and two step instructions; to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to finger, feel or handle; reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, sits, talks or hears.
  • Regularly lifts or carries up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to climb ladders and work on roof tops.
  • Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be at least age 18.
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the employee may be required to communicate with English speaking members or co-workers, the manuals for equipment the employee may use are in English).

Nice To Haves

  • Expereince with HVAC, electrical, commercial appliances, plumbing, painting and other maintenance is preferred.
  • Certification/Liscense in HVAC, electrical and pool preferred or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general repairs and maintenance for all areas within the operation including but not limited to: electrical, HVAC, boilers, mechanical, pool, and structural aspects of the buildings, commercial equipment and grounds.
  • Maintains cleanliness and appearance of exterior of the facility including not limited to: emptying trash cans, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting and arranging furniture.
  • Maintenance of outdoor cameras, lighting, and other electrical access.
  • Identify and report to supervisor when supplies are needed.
  • Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager/Supervisor.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Must be able to operate and drive a golf cart.
  • Comply with all Safety policies of the Club as well as federal laws pertaining to OSHA, and EPA regulations.
  • Attends staff meetings when required.
