About The Position

Northwood Club is seeking a part-time Tennis Shop Attendant to support Tennis Professionals and the Pro Shop Manager in delivering a high-quality tennis experience. This role involves promoting tennis programs and assisting with sales, marketing, and maintenance of the tennis shop. The ideal candidate will work 25-30 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Ability to work 25-30 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to read and speak English.
  • Ability to bend, stand, stoop, and lift at least 30 pounds of weight.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a customer service role.
  • Knowledge of tennis equipment and apparel.
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems.
  • Racquet stringing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the facility is ready for operation and maintained throughout the day.
  • Prepare coffee and tea as needed.
  • Be knowledgeable about all tennis activities, including Junior Development, camps, and drills.
  • Understand front desk operations and merchandise information.
  • Possess knowledge of club activities, policies, and hours.
  • Transfer calls and assist members with inquiries.
  • Assist with inventory management for items like alcohol, strings, and grips.
  • Promote sales of merchandise and services.
  • Stock merchandise as required.
  • Maintain a lost and found, securing valuable items.
  • Greet all individuals entering the tennis shop.
  • Answer phone calls courteously and professionally.
  • Schedule court reservations accurately.
  • Assist members with merchandise needs in a courteous manner.
  • Process payments for court fees, guest fees, lesson fees, and merchandise.
  • Record ticket numbers for Tennis Professionals.
  • String racquets in a timely manner (if applicable).
  • Maintain and track the usage of demo racquets.
  • Restock the fridge during the shift and nightly.
  • Stock tennis balls as needed.
  • Keep the desk and counter clean and organized.
  • Ensure shop cleanliness during and at the end of the shift.
  • Track daily counts of members, groups, players, and spectators.
  • Perform closing procedures as per checklists.
  • Complete closing reports on the register, including counting money, preparing deposits, and organizing reports for the accounting department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Tennis and Pro Shop Manager.
