About the position
Riverside Research is seeking a full-time Facility Engineer in the Dayton, OH area. The role involves providing professional engineering oversight for facility projects, including design, construction, and project management. The engineer will be responsible for gathering user requirements, evaluating code compliance, and ensuring that the integrated design meets customer goals and security requirements. Other responsibilities include managing and coordinating programming, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of facilities. The minimum requirements for this position include a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, at least 5 years of facility engineering experience, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI US Government Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional engineering oversight for all facility projects
- Gather and document user requirements for secure workplace design
- Recommend optimal space planning and configuration
- Evaluate code compliance and review proposed layouts
- Conduct periodic on-site observation of work during construction
- Work with other engineers to integrate mechanical and electrical elements into final product
- Manage, support, and coordinate programming, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of facilities
- Provide engineering support for office/laboratory cooling systems and power management systems
- Evaluate cost estimates and provide estimated costs for proposed projects
- Project management and project schedules
- Design reviews, drawings, specifications, analysis, submittals, shop drawings, requirements gathering, and documentation
- Concept creation and space/layout planning
- Interpretation of codes, standards, and regulations
- Ensure secure environment and security requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI US Government Security Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of facility engineering experience
- CAD experience
- Briefing Military/Government Councils
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to challenging situations
- Cross-functional engineering discipline knowledge (including electrical systems) is a plus
- Perform special projects related to Mechanical Engineering project management
