About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring Facility Drivers for its detox and residential treatment facility in Metairie, Louisiana. The role transports clients for admissions, discharges, and appointments; handles related documents and lab specimens; engages with clients in a peer-support capacity during transport; and helps with facility custodial and maintenance tasks when not driving. The driver is responsible for keeping the vehicle maintained, fueled, and ready for use.

Requirements

• Current and valid state-issued driver's license.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Dignified, respectable character that reflects recovery principles.
• Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of experience in the treatment industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the transportation schedule and safely transport clients for admissions, discharges, and appointments as necessary.
• Collect and deliver external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary.
• Engage clients at a peer-support level during transport and assist with luggage.
• Keep the vehicle well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use at all times.
• Assist with custodial and maintenance duties when not actively transporting clients.
