About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Facility Driver for its Fort Wayne residential facility, which provides drug and alcohol detox and inpatient rehabilitation services. The driver transports clients for admissions, discharges, and appointments; handles external appointment documents and lab specimens; and offers peer-level support to clients during transport. The role also includes keeping the vehicle maintained, fueled, and ready for use, as well as helping with custodial and maintenance duties when not transporting clients.

Requirements

• Current and valid state-issued driver's license.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Dignified, respectable character that reflects recovery principles.
• Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of experience in the treatment industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the transportation schedule and safely transport clients for admissions, discharges, and appointments as needed.
• Collect and deliver external appointment documentation and lab specimens as needed.
• Engage with clients at a peer-support level during transport and assist with luggage.
• Keep the vehicle well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use.
• Assist with custodial and maintenance duties when not actively transporting clients.
