About The Position

As a Facility Assistant II, you play a key role in coordinating and optimizing grain and special crops operations. This position combines hands-on equipment operation with planning, inventory management, quality control, and shipment coordination responsibilities. Working closely with facility leadership and transportation partners, you help ensure products are processed, stored, blended, and shipped efficiently while maintaining quality standards, safety requirements, and customer commitments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible agri-business or grain industry experience.
  • High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent required.
  • Strong understanding of grain handling, storage, processing, and quality control practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple operational activities and priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience operating and maintaining grain processing equipment.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to assess operational issues and recommend improvements.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties required within a grain or special crops facility.
  • Good eyesight and color perception.
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment while adhering to safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Level 2 Grain Grading Course sponsored by the company or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate the binning, cleaning, drying, blending, and storage of grain and/or special crops to meet quality specifications and shipping requirements.
  • Operate grain processing equipment, including cleaning systems and dryers, to support safe and efficient facility operations.
  • Monitor grain handling and storage practices, conduct quality checks, and identify opportunities to improve processing performance and productivity.
  • Coordinate railcar, truck, and transloading activities in partnership with facility management and transportation teams.
  • Support inventory management activities, including inventory tracking, stock assessments, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Perform grading, dockage, moisture, and protein assessments of inbound and outbound grain products as required.
  • Identify blending opportunities to maximize product quality, value, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on grain and special crops processing equipment.
  • Promote and support environmental, health, and safety programs while ensuring compliance with company policies and ISO standards.
