About The Position

The Facilities Technician repairs and maintains buildings/facilities, using expertise for diagnosis and emergency repairs. This role provides preventive and cost-efficient repairs, conducts routine inspections to determine necessary maintenance, and acts as a leader for less-skilled assistants. The technician will consult with engineers and vendors, perform and oversee maintenance trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and welding. Responsibilities also include overseeing routine maintenance and cleaning of break rooms, coffee stations, bathrooms, hanger, and office areas, as well as maintaining and cleaning grounds, gardens, and buildings when necessary. The role involves assisting with furniture set-up and office assembly/removal, and setting up tables, cabinets, chairs, and shelves for conferences and meetings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Generally, at least 3 to 5 years of experience in Facilities Maintenance.
  • Experience in infrastructure maintenance activities including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, welding, assembly, set up, and removal of furniture.
  • Comprehensive Knowledge of all possible tasks and responsibilities within their Technical Area.
  • Skills are broadly applied in multiple Technical Areas.
  • Maintenance techniques related to carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and welding.
  • Professional driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of the methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in the construction, maintenance, repair and operation of facilities.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Some knowledge of office (Excel and Word), internet explorer, and lotus notes.
  • ENS system, company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provides preventive and cost-efficient repairs.
  • Conducts routine or periodic inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery and equipment.
  • Acts as leader for less-skilled assistants.
  • Consults with engineers and vendors.
  • Performs and oversees maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and welding.
  • Oversees routine maintenance and cleaning duties of the break rooms, coffee stations, bathroom checks, hanger and office areas.
  • Maintains and cleans, when necessary, the grounds, gardens and buildings.
  • Assists with furniture set-up and office assembly/removal.
  • Sets up tables, cabinets, chairs, shelves, etc. for conferences and meetings.
