Facilities Technician 1 - Sunday-Wednesday 1:30 PM -12:00 AM -Cedar Rapids Fulfillment Center
About The Position
As a Maintenance Tech 1, you will execute a preventative maintenance program and support troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of the building’s material handling equipment. You will also support the Operations team by helping design maintenance solutions for difficult problems and maintenance projects. The role contributes to achieving building and department goals. The schedule is Sunday through Wednesday, 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM, at the Cedar Rapids Fulfillment Center. The position includes standing and walking during shifts lasting up to 12 hours and moving up to 49 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the operation and repair of material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of power tools and pneumatic or hydraulic tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- 1+ years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, and building maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of control systems and PLCs.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of material handling systems and conveyors, including motor/reducer issues, belt tracking, and belt lacing.
- Support troubleshooting of basic relay logic, ladder diagrams, and control components, including photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachs, and encoders.
- Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and hand tools.
- Use a work order system and create and close out work orders with information including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
- Maintain positive working relationships across all departments within the Nordstrom facility.
- Move up to 49 pounds and stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
