About The Position
Facilities Maintenance Technician I provides entry-level support for Del Norte Credit Union’s facilities by assisting with routine maintenance tasks, daily operational needs, and general facility upkeep. The role works under close supervision to help maintain safe, clean, and functional environments across all locations. The position is based at the Espanola Operations Center in Espanola, New Mexico, and includes work across multiple sites. Requirements
- One year of experience, preferably in maintenance, facilities, or a related field.
- High school diploma, GED, or higher education.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles, including maintaining a clean driving record for insurability purposes.
- Courtesy, tact, trust, and diplomacy in personal contact with people inside or outside the organization to provide or obtain information, build relationships, or solicit cooperation.
- Introductory building maintenance skills.
- Introductory grounds maintenance skills.
- Introductory hand and power tool skills.
- Introductory knowledge of safety standards.
- Introductory troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and to bend, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate small power tools, hand tools, other maintenance equipment, and a motor vehicle, and to travel between multiple work locations.
- Ability to climb ladders, access tight spaces, and work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to identify safety, maintenance, and security issues, correcting them or reporting them to the appropriate party.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, changing light bulbs, painting, basic carpentry, and simple repairs.
- Assist with scheduled preventive maintenance and respond to assigned service requests.
- Coordinate vendor access and escort contractors performing major repairs or services.
- Transport interoffice mail, packages, and supplies between credit union locations.
- Assist in monitoring company vehicles and ensuring they receive required maintenance.
- Help with office moves, furniture assembly, and equipment setups.
- Perform light groundskeeping or exterior upkeep not covered by vendors.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.
