About The Position
Facilities Maintenance Technician I provides entry-level support for Del Norte Credit Union facilities by assisting with routine maintenance tasks, daily operational needs, and general facility upkeep. The role works under close supervision to help maintain safe, clean, and functional environments across all locations. Based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the position involves indoor and outdoor work, travel between locations, and support for facility maintenance and repairs. The hourly salary range is $17.81–$22.26; new hires are typically brought in between the range minimum and maximum based on qualifications, internal equity, and budget.
Requirements
- One year of experience, preferably in maintenance, facilities, or a related field.
- High school diploma, GED, or higher education.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles and maintain a clean driving record for insurability.
- Courtesy, tact, trust, and diplomacy; ability to interact with people inside or outside the organization to give or obtain information, build relationships, or solicit cooperation.
- Introductory building maintenance, grounds maintenance, hand and power tools, safety standards, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; bend, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate small power tools, hand tools, other maintenance equipment, and a motor vehicle; travel between multiple work locations.
- Ability to climb ladders, access tight spaces, and work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to identify safety, maintenance, and security concerns, addressing them or reporting them to the appropriate party.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, light bulb replacement, painting, basic carpentry, and simple repairs.
- Assist with scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and respond to assigned service requests.
- Coordinate vendor access and escort contractors performing major repairs or services.
- Transport interoffice mail, packages, and supplies between credit union locations.
- Assist in monitoring company vehicles and ensuring they receive required maintenance.
- Help with office moves, furniture assembly, and equipment setups.
- Perform light groundskeeping or exterior upkeep not covered by vendors.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.
