Facilities Custodian (Pitman Day Shift)
About The Position
The Facilities Custodian is responsible for maintaining safe and productive working conditions at Silfab Solar by keeping the workplace clean, orderly, and well-maintained. The role includes cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, break rooms, common areas, production areas, and other spaces as needed; replenishing paper supplies; handling trash and recycling in accordance with Toward Zero Waste regulations; and maintaining outdoor grounds, walkways, shipping areas, and the parking lot. The custodian also processes module corner protector pieces for packaging reuse by sorting, vacuuming, brushing, and boxing them. The position requires following directions, meeting sanitation and quality standards, and using cleaning products and equipment safely. Other duties assigned by management may include warehouse cleaning.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow directions closely.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to self-start and work independently.
- High attention to detail to ensure sanitation and quality standards are met.
- Working knowledge of cleaning products and their effective, safe use.
- Knowledge of and ability to use small hand power tools, such as drills, roto hammers, snow blowers, and pressure washers.
- Minor plumbing and carpentry skills.
- Ability to paint and repair walls.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of experience in custodial services.
Responsibilities
- Clean, sanitize, and stock paper supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Sweep and mop restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and other areas as needed.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables from restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and production lines in accordance with Toward Zero Waste regulations.
- Process module corner protector pieces for the packaging reuse program by sorting, vacuuming, brushing, and packing them into boxes.
- Maintain outside grounds by picking up trash, cleaning ground drains, and sweeping walkways and shipping areas.
- Keep the parking lot free of litter and debris.
- Ensure sanitation and quality standards are met.
- Perform other duties assigned by management, which may include sweeping and mopping warehouses.
