About The Position

Wastequip is seeking a Fabricator to support its manufacturing operation in Erial, New Jersey. This full-time role fabricates steel and other metal parts and tools according to work orders and blueprints, using equipment such as press brakes and shears. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Saturdays. The hourly pay is $21.28.

Requirements

Prior experience operating a press brake and/or shear.
Understanding of basic CNC controls.
Ability to read blueprints and use a measuring tape.
Basic math and problem-solving skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
Experience in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to pass all required EHS tests and clearances.

Nice To Haves

Press brake and/or shear setup experience.
At least 1 year of prior production experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Fabricate steel and other metal parts according to work orders and blueprints.
Operate a press brake and/or shear.
Adjust blade rake (angle) and pressure using handwheels.
Position and clamp stops and side guides to set the length and angle of cuts.
Lift workpieces manually or with a hoist or crane onto the machine bed or roller table, positioning them against side guides and end stops.
Start the machine to clamp the workpiece and lower the blade to cut metal.
Lay out cutting lines on metal when shearing single pieces.
Tilt the bed or blade, or install fixtures, to shear, bevel, or trim fabricated items.
Operate a portable shear to cut sheet metal.
Inspect completed work to verify dimensions.
