About The Position

Wastequip is hiring a Fabricator to support its steel manufacturing operation in New Salisbury, NC. This full-time role fabricates steel and other metal parts and tools using a variety of machines. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the listed hourly pay is $21.37.

Requirements

Prior experience operating a press brake and/or shear.
Ability to understand basic CNC controls.
Ability to read blueprints and use a measuring tape.
Basic math and problem-solving skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across units of measure.
Experience in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to pass all required EHS tests and clearances.

Nice To Haves

Press brake and/or shear setup experience.
At least one year of prior production experience.

Responsibilities

Fabricate steel and other metal parts according to work orders and blueprints.
Operate a press brake and/or shear.
Adjust the rake angle and blade pressure using handwheels.
Position and clamp stops and side guides to set the length and angle of cuts.
Load workpieces onto the machine bed or roller table manually or with a hoist or crane, and position them against side guides and end stops.
Start the machine to clamp and cut metal workpieces.
Lay out cutting lines on metal when shearing single pieces.
Tilt the bed or blade, or install fixtures, to shear, bevel, or trim fabricated items.
Operate a portable shear to cut sheet metal.
Inspect finished work to verify dimensions.
