About The Position

Wastequip is hiring a Fabricator to support its manufacturing operation in Erial, New Jersey. The role fabricates steel and other metal parts and tools according to work orders and blueprints, using a variety of machines, including a press brake and/or shear. The posted shift is 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime on Saturdays. The hourly pay is $21.28.

Requirements

• Prior experience operating a press brake and/or shear.
• Understanding of basic CNC controls.
• Ability to read blueprints and use a measuring tape.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure.
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to pass all EHS-required tests and clearances.

Nice To Haves

• Press brake and/or shear setup experience.
• One or more years of prior production experience.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel and other metal parts as indicated by work orders and blueprints.
• Operate a press brake and/or shear.
• Adjust rake angle and blade pressure using handwheels.
• Position and clamp stops and side guides to set the length and angle of cuts.
• Move workpieces manually or by hoist or crane onto the machine bed or roller table and position them against side guides and end stops.
• Start the machine to clamp the workpiece and lower the blade to cut metal.
• Lay out cutting lines on metal when shearing individual pieces.
• Tilt the bed or blade, or install fixtures, to shear, bevel, or trim fabricated items.
• Operate a portable shear to cut sheet metal.
• Inspect work to verify dimensions.
