About The Position

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a Fabricator for its Fire Fabrication Shop. The position fabricates and assembles pipe for fire protection systems using various machinery and following instructions and specifications. The Fabricator reads parts lists and measurements, checks that parts are present and properly fitted, and helps address production issues and equipment malfunctions. The role also requires maintaining a clean and safe work environment and reporting production errors. Saturday work is required; extended hours and weekends may also be required. Compensation is $21.34.

Requirements

Read a tape measure to ¼ inch.
Be dependable and maintain regular, reliable attendance.
Have a positive attitude, good work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Communicate ideas and information verbally and in writing.
Be able to work Saturdays; missed Saturday work counts against the attendance record.
Be at least 18 years old.
Have attention to detail and the ability to follow directions and communicate with others.
Be able to push, pull, or regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
Be able to stand, bend, twist, and walk during 8–12-hour shifts.
Be able to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

Use various machinery.
Study and interpret assembly instructions and follow directions from supervisors.
Fabricate and assemble pipe according to instructions.
Read parts lists and determine whether all parts are present.
Assemble tools, materials, and components.
Interpret measurements and verify specifications.
Ensure parts are fitted and screwed in properly.
Resolve assembly and production issues with management assistance.
Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
Keep the work environment clean and safe.
Report production errors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
