About The Position

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a Fabricator for its Fire Fabrication Shop. The position is responsible for fabricating pipe for fire protection systems. The employer describes itself as a major mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractor that performs new and retrofit construction across industrial, food processing, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bio-fuel projects.

Requirements

• Be able to read a tape measure to ¼ inch.
• Be dependable, with good attendance and a positive attitude.
• Have a good work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Be able to communicate ideas and thoughts verbally and in writing.
• Be able to work Saturdays; missed Saturdays count against the attendance record.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have attention to detail.
• Be able to follow directions and communicate with others.
• Be able to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Be able to stand, bend, twist, and walk during 8–12-hour shifts.
• Have regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Use various machinery.
• Study and interpret assembly instructions.
• Listen to directions from supervisors.
• Fabricate and assemble pipe according to instructions.
• Read parts lists and determine whether all parts are present.
• Assemble tools, materials, and various components.
• Interpret measurements and verify specifications.
• Ensure all parts are fitted and screwed in properly.
• Resolve assembly and production issues with management assistance.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
• Ensure the working environment is clean and safe.
• Report errors in production.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
