About The Position

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a Fabricator for its Fire Fabrication Shop. The role is responsible for fabricating pipe for fire protection systems. The position involves using machinery, interpreting instructions and measurements, assembling pipe and components, checking specifications, and addressing production issues. The job requires Saturday work, and extended hours and weekends may be required. Compensation is $21.34 per hour.

Requirements

• Read a tape measure to ¼-inch increments.
• Be dependable, with good attendance and a positive attitude.
• Have a good work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Communicate ideas and information verbally and in writing.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Pay attention to detail and follow directions.
• Communicate with others.
• Push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Stand, bend, twist, and walk for 8–12-hour shifts.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
• Be able to work Saturdays; missing Saturday work will count against the attendance record.

Responsibilities

• Use various machinery.
• Study and interpret assembly instructions and follow supervisors’ directions.
• Fabricate and assemble pipe according to instructions.
• Read parts lists and determine whether all parts are present.
• Assemble tools, materials, and components.
• Interpret measurements and verify specifications.
• Ensure parts are fitted and screwed together properly.
• Resolve assembly and production issues with management’s assistance.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
• Keep the working environment clean and safe.
• Report production errors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
