About The Position

The Fabricator is responsible for interpreting customer requirements from supplied drawings or prints and fabricating material to meet specifications. The role focuses on meeting safety, quality, and on-time delivery metrics. The employee contributes to production improvement efforts, works with Quality and Engineering to support accurate data flow, and helps reduce internal scrap, remakes, and delays between departments. Clear communication across shifts and attention to detail are important.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret customer prints.
Ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers for dimension verification.
Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of fabrication processes, equipment operation, and production requirements.
Energetic, team-oriented approach and willingness and ability to follow directions.
Safety-conscious behavior and an excellent attendance record.
Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with sheet metal fabrication.
Previous experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
Basic CNC experience.

Responsibilities

Interpret customer prints and verify dimensions using measuring equipment such as calipers.
Set up and operate sheet metal fabrication machinery, including manual and powered shears, turret presses, bending and forming equipment, and power sanding and deburring machines.
Perform basic cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of machinery as required.
Escalate safety, quality, and on-time delivery issues to the production coordinator.
Maintain a clean work environment throughout each day.
Learn new processes to expand competency and increase organizational flexibility.
Identify operational issues, develop practical solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Maintain clear communication across shifts and alignment with leadership expectations.
