About The Position

SSI Fabricated (SSI) is seeking a dependable and motivated Welder to support production and quality requirements in our operation. This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to contribute to a well-established, growing company while working in a hands-on manufacturing environment. The Welder performs fitting and welding of structural and pipe weldments and uses welding and cutting equipment to meet drawing, procedure, and code requirements.

Requirements

• Two (2) years’ experience in fabrication and welding
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
• Must be experienced in PVF (pipe, valve and fitting)
• Must be experienced welding and fitting cut pipe, flanges, ports, drains and other attachments
• Must be experienced with face-to-face mating requirements
• Must be experienced with setup, positioning and angular measurements
• Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair
• Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
• Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings, if required

• Setting up components for welding according to specifications
• Preparing parts for welding
• Aligning and clamping components
• Welding in various positions
• Inspecting welded surfaces and structures for flaws
• Maintaining equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
