Eye Care Clinic Assistant
About The Position
In a positive and cheerful manner, the Eye Care Clinic Assistant supports and works alongside doctors to provide an outstanding patient experience. The role performs accurate preliminary testing while building light, easy rapport with patients to reduce anxiety and help instill confidence in the medical and surgical care they will receive. This position is based at PCLI’s Chehalis clinic in Chehalis, Washington. It is listed as 3/4 time, or 30–39 hours per week. The stated schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; the schedule may vary according to the patient schedule and clinic needs. The listed pay range is $22.18–$23.59 per hour. PCLI will help the employee apply for Washington Medical Assistant Certification and cover its full cost once hired.
Requirements
- Pleasant, caring, and helpful attitude.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to work with a team to set and achieve common goals.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and legible handwriting.
- Keyboarding skills and comfort using Microsoft Word.
- Ability to remain composed and professional under stressful circumstances.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- A driving record and background check are required upon offer of employment.
Responsibilities
- Support and work alongside doctors to provide an outstanding patient experience.
- Perform accurate preliminary testing.
- Establish rapport with patients to reduce their anxiety.
- Help patients feel confident in the medical and surgical care they will receive.
- Push equipment around the clinic.
- Push wheelchairs and help patients transfer into and out of exam chairs.
