About The Position

The Experienced Tree Climber trims and removes trees and limbs to support the health and safety of trees and surrounding areas. Working outdoors as an active crew member alongside ground crew and a crew leader, the climber performs tree pruning and removal services using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems. The role includes pruning, canopy thinning, deadwood removal, installing tree-support and lightning-protection systems, and removing hazardous trees. The position is onsite in North Royalton, Ohio, with travel expectations of up to 25%. It is a permanent, full-time role.

Requirements

Love of the outdoors.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.

Nice To Haves

Background in forestry, horticulture, landscaping, or working at heights.
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Work as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and the crew leader.
Safely and skillfully perform tree pruning and removal services for clients.
Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout tree canopies.
Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
Remove hazardous trees.
Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
