About The Position

Durable Slate is an award-winning roofing contractor specializing in slate, copper, and clay-tile roofing. The company is seeking experienced roofers who take pride in quality work and want to learn specialized roofing techniques. Slate or historic roofing experience is not required; paid training is provided to develop skills in slate, copper, and other traditional roofing materials.

The role involves installing and repairing slate, clay tile, copper, and EPDM roofs, maintaining safe and professional job sites, and working with an experienced team. Travel to project locations may be required, with paid travel time and travel support. Compensation is $23–$45+ per hour based on experience and skill, with performance-based pay increases, advancement opportunities, and overtime available as weather and project schedules allow.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of roofing experience; experience with any type of roofing is welcome.
• General knowledge of roofing installation, repair, and flashing.
• Comfort working outdoors in all seasons and at heights using ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and other equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Pride in work and attention to detail.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Slate, copper, or historic roofing experience is a plus but not required.
