About The Position
Durable Slate is seeking experienced roofers to join its roofing team. The company specializes in slate, copper, and clay-tile roofing and will train roofers in specialized techniques for slate, copper, and other traditional roofing materials. Candidates do not need prior slate or historic roofing experience; general roofing experience and a willingness to learn are welcomed. The role involves installing and repairing slate, clay tile, copper, and EPDM roofs, maintaining clean and safe job sites, and working with an experienced team to deliver high-quality craftsmanship. Employees may travel to project sites as needed, with paid travel time and logistical support for multi-site projects. Compensation is $23–$45+ per hour, based on experience and skill. Requirements
- At least 1 year of roofing experience.
- General knowledge of roofing installation, repair, and flashing.
- Comfort working outdoors in all seasons and at heights, using ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and other equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Reliable work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Pride in work and attention to detail.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Nice To Haves
- A valid driver's license is preferred.
- Slate, copper, or historic roofing experience is a plus, but not required.
