Experienced LO Propulsion Integration Engineer

Boeing•Berkeley, MO
•$112,200 - $151,800

About The Position

Boeing Phantom Works is seeking an experienced Low Observable (LO) Propulsion Integration Engineer to lead LO integration of propulsion systems for advanced stealth aircraft programs, including Boeing’s Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) platforms. The role applies expertise in propulsion integration, LO design principles, and systems engineering across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring propulsion performance while meeting signature, thermal, and structural requirements. The engineer will develop and validate LO propulsion architectures, conduct analyses and trade studies, establish requirements and verification plans, and support design reviews and ground and flight testing. The position also includes technical leadership and mentorship within the LO discipline, along with preparation and review of engineering documentation. The position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance and a U.S. Person as defined by export control regulations. Boeing will not sponsor employment visas. Relocation is available based on eligibility. A potential signing bonus may be available to eligible, qualified external candidates. This is a Shift 1 position and is not contingent upon a program award.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a non-U.S. equivalent qualification directly related to the work statement.
  • At least 5 years of related work experience with a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education.
  • Demonstrated experience with propulsion integration on low-observable or stealth aircraft programs.
  • Strong understanding of LO fundamentals, including radar cross-section (RCS) control, infrared (IR) signature management, and materials and coatings impacts.
  • Hands-on experience with inlet/nozzle design, exhaust suppression/infrared reduction techniques, and internal/external flow path management.
  • Proficiency with LO propulsion/airframe integration analyses and tools, such as CEM, signature modeling, and thermal analysis.
  • Experience creating technical specifications, interface requirements, and verification plans.
  • Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance; a clearance active within the past 24 months is considered active. U.S. citizenship is required for the clearance.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person.
  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
